As mentioned in the previous section, unless your engineers and technicians have BOTH certifications and experience, then you may be putting your network, data, AND company at risk. I have met several very experienced engineers that were very capable for most of the work, but because they didn’t have any certifications or real training, they made small mistakes that cost a lot of time and money for the client. On the opposite side, I have seen people spend quite a bit of money to attend training courses, yet have no “real world” experience. They walk out of these courses with quite a bit of certifications but choke up when it comes down to actually doing the work.
