Term	Definition
VLAN	Virtual Local Area Network - a virtual network created by switches normally to segregate specific switchports on the switch. Access between one VLAN to another is done through a layer 3 device such as a router.
VLSM	Variable Length Subnet Mask - VLSM is a subnet mask that changes the number of usable IPs based on the various requirements on the network. VLSM allows for more efficient use of IPs to maximize the potential use of those IPs.
VoIP	Voice over IP
VPN	Virtual Private Network - an encrypted connection between two or more networks over the public Internet that allows those networks to connect to each other without jeopardizing the security of either network.
